Saw one of the movies today afternoon that I used to love as a Kid and the name of the movie is 'Maine Pyaar Kiya'. And its quite weird but I loved it still. It was simply amazing! The mood of the film, the songs including Lata's beautiful voice, the house, the 'Friend' cap and most of all 'Bhagyashree'. She is so damn amazing in the movie. I remember I was quite in love with her then, and things haven't changed much even now. Her innocence is rather unreal but still captivates. Her smile in the movie in infectious. Ohhh...it was just awesome to see her today again.
Sometimes I wonder how were things between Salman and her during the making of the film? How would they talk if they were to meet today? The movie seems to me like a dream! Everything was perfect. Hahaha...I am a little boy again!
eeeeeeeeeeeee.. i never liked any one of them..
ReplyDeletecant anticipate what would you like there even if your post says it all?
ya, but good old days; must be fun to recap.
eeeeeeeeeeeee..me too!
ReplyDeletethe 'friend' cap was and is still annoying. But then MPK and i don't go as far back as you do. i saw MPK properly only in 2002! for someone who's turned sugar-free, how do u digest any rajshri prodn.?
u bacchas will never understand the magic of those days...and of course bhagyashree's magical smile! ya for me it happened way back in 1989. i also had a 'friend' cap...and treasured it like anything...alas its lost now...
ReplyDeleteyo mannn... i also used to like it.. all that u have mentioned... from bhagyashree's smile and innocence to the friend cap!! even I had one hehheheh...
ReplyDeletewill be nice to wathc some of those again...
(and its good that it made u feel young!! ;)
Aww is this not the movie with the song Teri Meri Love Story? It was my soundtrack during my latest trip to India and even now that I'm back I cannot stop listening to it!
ReplyDeleteI have never watched that movie. I tried, I think. I don't remember. But I read about the movie on its 25th anniversary of something. Or maybe it was 10th.. or 20th.. I really don't know.. Apparently they were quite friendly on the sets. And he respected her a lot. They were not close buddies. Nearing the end of the shoot, she got married. And when he heard the news he took her aside ans asked her if she is happy. When she said yes, he told her that he is happy for her too. And (I don't know why I remember all this) when they were shooting for posters and pictures for Magazines, the cameraman wanted them to get all sexy for the pictures.. He took Salman aside and asked him to just touch her or get close to her while clicking the pictures. But he refused to do so without her permission.
ReplyDeleteI think they would cordially shake hands and ask after each other's health if they do meet up now. Maybe I SHOULD watch the movie.
My favorite movie from around that era is Hum Saath Saath Hain. I LOVE IT. It's a secret though. :-)
Oh. Quite an essay I have typed out here. Sigh.
'Hum Saath Saath Hain'? Really? I think you should keep this secret even more secretly with and never let it be out :)
ReplyDeleteBut I completely understand why it would be so difficult to see 'Maine Pyar Kiya'. Its not the same era as Hum Saath Saath Hain, things used to be much simpler in the times on MPK. Even other movies like 'QSQT' (and I hope you saw this one) had simplicity at their core (plus some good music).
Thanks for sharing the trivia about the movie, I am smiling still...we were such kids back then :)
